Five-time NAC champion Spartans shutout Warriors

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team was defeated by five-time Northern Athletics Conference champion Aurora University 14-0 on Wednesday night at Warrior Field.

The Spartans (8-3, 4-0), who are ranked sixth by the NSCAA in the latest Central region rankings, opened the scoring quickly as Jordan Joyce scored off a pass from Raquel Rodriguez 5:41 into play. Aurora scored eight goals in the first half and out-shot the Warriors 24-1 in the first 45 minutes.

Aurora added six more goals in the second period to give the visitors the 14-0 victory. Joyce, Rodriguez and Lorelei Ritzert each scored two goals and chipped in with an assist to lead Aurora in the contest. Rodriguez and Ritzert also led AU with six shots.

Both shots for the Warriors came from sophomore Niki DiSalvo (Waterford, Wis./Waterford). Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Luebke (Kaukauna, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) stopped 12 shots for the forest green and white.

Wisconsin Lutheran (0-9, 0-4 NAC) will return to action on Saturday when it hosts MSOE (5-4, 3-1 NAC) at Warrior Field. The Homecoming contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
