KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team opened its 2012 indoor season Friday
and Saturday at the Carthage Private College Invitational at the
Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
WLC's Tate Plath (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) competed in
the mile run and finished with a time of 5:04.45. Wis.-Parkside's
Ben Orvold won the event with his time of 4:24.19.
Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) and Danny Hafenstein
(Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) each competed in the
3,000-meter run and recorded finishing times of 10:12.29 and
10:42.78, respectively. North Central's (Ill.) Timothy Hird won the
race with his top time of 8:44.06.
North Central (Ill.) totaled 179 points to take home the men's
team title.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to competition Friday, January 27 at
the Carthage Tadd Metzger Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. Events are
scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Tarble Athletic and
Recreation Center.
