MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball team fell victim to a 21-5 second-half run by MSOE as it fell to the host Raiders 69-55 in a Northern Athletics Conference game Saturday night at the Kern Center.

The Warriors opened up the game firing all on cylinders as they began with a 9-0 run, capped off by a senior Tim Demuth (Franksville, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) three-pointer. MSOE responded, however, as it scored 11 of the next 13 points to tie the game at 11-11 with 10:21 remaining in the first half.

The rest of the first half was a back-and-forth affair, with MSOE making the last run as the Raiders held a 24-21 lead after 20 minutes of play.

MSOE would build its lead to seven points early in the second half before WLC responded with a 13-2 run, again capped off by a Demuth three-pointer for a 36-32 lead with 12:40 remaining in the game. The Warriors lead was cut to 36-35 and then the Raiders broke the game open with the 21-5 run to take a commanding 56-41 lead with 3:36 remaining. MSOE would hold that lead en route to the 14-point victory.

Demuth led the Warriors as he finished with a team-best 14 points. Sophomore Brett Lubbe (Las Vegas, Nev./Faith Lutheran) and senior Nate Bauer (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) each added nine points, while Lubbe and senior Julion Griffin (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) each grabbed a team-best six rebounds for WLC. Griffin also tallied a team-best four assists.

MSOE (4-2, 2-0 NAC) was led by John Cording who poured in a game-high 16 points while also adding seven rebounds. Victor Bande added 15 points for the Raiders with Austin Stueck scoring nine points and dishing out seven assists.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-6, 0-2 NAC) returns to the court Wednesday when it visits Rockford (1-4, 1-0 NAC) in a NAC South Division contest. The Warriors and Regents will tip off at 7 p.m. at the Seaver Center in Rockford, Ill. Fans can follow the action via live audio and stats at wlcsports.com.
