Biancuzzo breaks 800-meter record at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed on Friday at the non-team scoring Carthage Gill Athletics Final Qualifier at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.

Sophomore Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) placed second out of 13 competitors in the 800-meter run with a school-record time of 1:56.96. The previous school record of 1:58.72 by Phil Hahm had stood since 2005.

Sophomore Malachi Wallander (Menasha, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) competed in the pole vault, earning a fourth-place finish with a jump of 3.76 meters.

Freshman Steve Van Alstine (Howards Grove, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) finished 14th in the one mile run with a time of 5:10.39. Sophomore Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) was ninth in the 5000-meter run after finishing in 16:40.52.

The competition concludes the indoor season for the Warriors. They will begin their outdoor season April 6 at the Wis.-Whitewater Rex Foster Open.
