ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's track & field team competed on Friday and Saturday at the
Washington University Invitational at the Bushyhead Track. The
Warriors finished with six points at the 32-team scoring
invite.
Freshman Travis Turnquist (Madison, Wis./East) accounted for all
six of Wisconsin Lutheran's points during the two-day event.
Turnquist established new school records in both the 200- and
400-meter dash, placing eighth and fourth, respectively. In the
200-meter dash, Turnquist placed eighth overall out of 71
competitors with a new school-record time of 22.23. He also placed
fourth out of 55 competitors in the 400-meter dash with a new
school-record time of 48.76.
Other top 25 finishers for WLC included freshman Michael Reeves
(Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates), who placed 22nd in the
100-meter dash with a time of 11.32. Sophomore Nathan Boerneke (Fox
Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) placed 17th and 19th in the 400- and
110-meter hurdles, respectively.
Wis.-Platteville, which won three events, scored an invite-best
101.50 points to top the 32-team scoring field. Monmouth (Ill.) was
next closest with 69 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to outdoor competition on Friday,
April 6 at the Wis.-Whitewater Rex Foster Invitational. Events are
scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
