Biancuzzo, Turnquist compete at Hillsdale Gina Relays

HILLSDALE, Mich. - Sophomore Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) and freshman Travis Turnquist (Madison, Wis./East) competed for the Warriors men's track & field team at the Hillsdale Gina Relays on Friday and Saturday at the Ken Herrick Track.

Turnquist finished second in the championship heat of the 400-meter dash with a new school-record time of 48.67. After winning his heat, he was runner-up to Grand Valley State's Nathaniel Hammersmith, who won the event with a time of 48.10.

In the men's 800-meter open run, Biancuzzo placed 23rd overall, including third in his heat, out of 64 competitors with a time of 1:56.90. Matt Lawrence of Wis.-Oshkosh won the event with a time of 1:53.21.

Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action tomorrow when it competes in the Private College Championships hosted by Ripon. Events begin at 10:30 a.m. at Ingalls Field. The championships were originally scheduled for today, but were postponed to Sunday due to inclement weather.
