NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's track & field team competed at the non-team
scoring Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College on
Friday in Naperville, Ill.
In the 400-meter dash, freshman Travis Turnquist (Madison,
Wis./East) broke his own school record with a seventh-place
finishing time of 48.45. With the school-record time, Turnquist
moved back into the top 30 on the nation's top performance
list.
Freshman Mike Reeves (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) set
a personal best in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in
23.03 seconds to finish in 20th place out of 34 competitors. Reeves
also raced in the 100-meter dash, earning 15th place out of 36
competitors with a time of 11.19.
In the 800-meter run, sophomore Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls,
Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) finished in 1:58.2 to place 65th out of
104 runners. Biancuzzo has shown major improvement this year as his
average in the race is well below his personal record of 2011.
The Warriors return to action on Saturday as they head to
Chicago to compete in the University of Chicago Penultimate. Events
from Ted Haydon Track are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
