The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team
competed at the Wis.-Platteville Invite Saturday at Williams
Fieldhouse in Platteville, Wis.
The Warriors scored six points on Saturday, finishing in eighth
place as freshman Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) accounted
for five of those points in his two events. Robles placed fifth in
the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:59.23, while also earning an
eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:34.23.
Sophomore Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and
freshman BJ Ropel (Mayville, Wis./Mayville) also competed in the
5,000-meter run for WLC.
Freshman Jared Kosmala (Racine, Wis./Lutheran) also recorded a
point-scoring performance for Wisconsin Lutheran when he placed
eighth in the high jump. Kosmala cleared 1.81 meters, just missing
out on the school record of 1.85 meters held by Brian Sommer since
2002.
Sophomore Mike Reeves (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates)
competed in three events as he ran in both the 60- and 200-meter
dashes, while also competing in the long jump. Reeves missed out on
qualifying for the 60-meter dash finals by .004 seconds. Juniors
Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) and Tommy
Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) each ran the mile Saturday,
while freshman Nate Fuller (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee)
competed in both the long and triple jumps.
Meet host Wis.-Platteville won the invite as it scored 220.5
points, finishing well ahead of runner-up Iowa Central's 109.
Wisconsin Lutheran will be back in action next Saturday when it
competes in the Pointer/Eastbay Invite at the Multi Activity Center
in Stevens Point, Wis. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30
a.m.
