WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's track & field team competed Friday at the
UW-Whitewater Rex Foster Invitational. The Warriors finished eighth
out of 10 scoring teams with 14 points at the invite.
The Warriors were well represented in the hurdle events as
freshman Ryan George and junior Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake,
Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) placed second and sixth, respectively, in
the 110-meter hurdles. George recorded a time of 15.64 seconds,
while Boerneke crossed the line in 16.68 seconds. Boerneke also
tallied a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles after he
finished the event in 59.01 seconds.
Sophomore Mike Reeves (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates)
finished ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.12 meters. He also
placed fifth in the 100-meter dash prelims with a time of 11.37
seconds, but did not compete in the finals of the event.
Junior Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) just missed
out on a top 10 finish in the 5000-meter run as he placed 11th with
a time of 15:18.93. Junior Tommy Jones (Delavan,
Wis./Delavan-Darien) competed in the javelin throw where he was
23rd with a distance of 36.03 meters. In the 1500-meter run,
freshman BJ Ropel (Mayville, Wis./Mayville) registered a time of
4:25.60 for 25th place.
Meet host UW-Whitewater topped the team standings with 262
points, out-distancing itself from second-place Michigan Tech's 150
points.
Wisconsin Lutheran will serve as host of the Warrior
Invitational next Saturday, April 13 at Raabe Stadium. Events get
underway at 11 a.m.
