Four Warriors Reach Personal-Bests In De Pere

DE PERE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team had four athletes achieve personal-best marks Thursday at the St. Norbert Twilight at Schneider Stadium. WLC finished 12th with 10 points.

Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) recorded the highest finish for the Warriors at the meet, placing fifth in the 800-meter run with a personal-best time of 2:01.48. Jones was also eighth in the javelin throw with a toss of 37.62 meters.

Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) was ninth in the 400-meter dash with a personal-best time of 52.18. Andrew Guenther's (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) 100-meter dash time of 11.66 was also good for a personal-best time. Guenther also finished 12th in the long jump with a mark of 5.61 meters, and 16th in the 200-meter dash at 24.04.

Kyle McBee (Monroe, Mich./Lutheran South) was the fourth Warrior to record a personal-best mark after his finishing time of 18:31.86 in the 5,000-meter run. Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) took home ninth place in the shot put with a throw of 11.50 meters.

St. Norbert, the meet host, won the 13-team invite with 221 points.

WLC will host the Wisconsin Private College Championships next Saturday, April 26 at Raabe Stadium. Events are set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
