Men's Track & Field Finishes 8th At Carroll Invite

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed Saturday at the Carroll Invite, finishing eighth out of 11 scoring teams with 20 points throughout the event.

Ten of Wisconsin Lutheran's 20 points came from the field events as Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darian) placed fifth among 25 competitors in the javelin throw with a mark of 41.78 meters. Jeremy Fierros (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) came in fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.52 meters, and Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) was eighth of 21 in the shot put with a toss of 12.03 meters.

On the track, Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) turned in a fourth-place finish in the 33-competitor field of the 1500-meter run with a finishing time of 4:18.76. Jones was seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06.34. The Warriors' final three points of the day came from their 4x400-meter relay team where they placed eighth with a time of 3:46.96.

St. Norbert topped the 11-team field with 200 points, 69 points ahead of runner-up MSOE's 131 points.

WLC hosts the Warrior Invitational next Saturday, April 12 at Raabe Stadium. Events are set to begin at 11 a.m.
