Warriors Open Outdoor Season At Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed at the Viking Olympics Friday and Saturday, scoring 28 points to take home an eighth-place finish.

Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) posted a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:25.54. Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) also competed in the 5,000 meters finishing in 16:22.25.

Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) used a time of 10:29.94 to place fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Mike Reeves (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates) competed in the 100 meters and took sixth with a time of 11.39. Reeves also competed in the long jump with a leap of 6.06 meters for 11th place.

Hafenstein led the Warriors in the 1,500 meters, crossing the line in 4:20.55, which was good for 20th out of 65 runners. Close behind in 22nd was Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) with a time of 4:20.94. Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) was 24th (4:24.55) and Harrison Fleming (Farmington, N.M./Piedra Vista) was 28th (4:22.82). Kyle McBee (Monroe, Mich./Lutheran South) (4:33.57) and Josh Eickhoff (Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) (4:46.35) also competed in the event for WLC.

Jared Bruemmer (Hanover Park, Ill./Hoffman Estates) and Alexander Kirk (Waukesha, Wis./North) participated in the 200 meters and recorded times of 24.06 and 25.93, respectively. Collin Sheahan (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) finished the 400 in 56.24.

In the field events, Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) participated in the hammer throw and recorded a toss of 32.16 meters.

The sprint medley team of Reeves, Bruemmer, Sheahan, and Jordan Donart (De Pere, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) finished fourth with a time of 4:04.36.

Wisconsin Lutheran's 4x200-meter relay team of Kirk, Bruemmer, Sheahan, and Reeves posted a fifth-place finish at 1:36.52. The distance medley team of Wallace, Hill, Jodat, and McBee placed seventh, crossing the line in 11:30.42. WLC's 4x400-meter relay team of Sheahan, Kirk, Bruemmer, and Robles finished in 3:48.34.

Meet host Augustana totaled 262 points to win its 18-team home meet.

WLC will next compete on April 11 as it hosts the Warrior Invitational at Raabe Stadium.
