Jodat Shatters 1500 Meter Record At Private College Invite

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team competed in the Private College Invitational hosted by Carroll at the Dennis Punches Track & Field Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors came in ninth place out of 13 teams with 24.5 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Junior Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) topped the field in the 1500 meters, setting a new school record of 3:58.73. Jodat broke the previous school record by nearly eight seconds, as his time currently ranks 49th nationally.
  • Freshman Javier Cano-Telles (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) placed second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:27.86.
  • Junior Jared Bruemmer (Hanover Park, Ill./Hoffman Estates) placed seventh in the long jump at 5.37 meters.
  • Junior Jeremy Fierros (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) came in eighth in the pole vault competition, clearing 3.50 meters.
  • Carthage, with its 146 team points, barely edged out St. Norbert's 144 points to take home the team championship.

UP NEXT

  • WLC is back in action next Saturday when it hosts the Warrior Invitational at Raabe Stadium. Events are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
