Box Score 2 VERONA, Wis. - Wisconsin Lutheran College broke out the brooms on Tuesday, sweeping Edgewood for the second straight season by scores of 12-10 and 8-4 at Stampfl Field. With the two wins, the Warriors remain alive for a possible NACC Tournament berth with just two conference games left.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warriors found themselves in an early hole in game one, as the Eagles scored four runs in the first three innings before the Warriors were able to close the gap by scoring three runs in the fourth on two hits.
- The Eagles responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth keeping them on top 6-3.
- WLC tacked on two more runs in the fifth on a wild pitch and RBI double, but the Eagles still held a 7-5 lead.
- The Warriors' bats heated up in the seventh, scoring seven runs on five hits and taking the lead 12-7.
- Edgewood posted three runs the rest of the game, including two in the ninth but it was not enough and the Warriors hung on for the game one win.
- Ryan Stancl (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) went 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI. Curtis Engelbrecht (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Northland Lutheran) went 2-for-5 knocking in two runs and scoring one himself.
- Josiah Boucher (Menasha, Wis./Menasha) went 2-for-4 with one run and two RBIs.
- Nine different Warriors players recorded at least one hit in game.
- Cameron Paladines (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) picked up the win in relief of starter Connor Rosin (Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel) to improve his record to 5-2 on the season.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warriors posted one run in the first inning for an early lead, but it was overcome by the Eagles two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the second.
- WLC scored two runs in the third tying the game at 3-3.
- The Warriors had their bats going again late in the game. In the sixth, WLC scored four runs to break the 3-3 tie and give itself a 7-3 lead off run-scoring hits from Joe Hanson (La Crosse, Wis./Logan), Ryan Michael (Racine, Wis./Lutheran), and KJ Banse (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's).
- The Eagles posted one run in the bottom of the sixth which was quickly matched by the Warriors in the seventh on a Colton Tisch (Genoa City, Wis./Badger) RBI single.
- Tisch went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Banse was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run of his own.
- Brock Vredeveld (Waterloo, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) earned the win in 5.0 innings of work to improve to 3-5, while Noah Schriefer (San Diego, Calif./California Lutheran) picked up his third save of the year after throwing the final 4.0 innings and scattering only three hits.
FOR THE FOES
- Jonathan Roehler went 5-for-6 with two runs and two RBIs in game one, including a home run, Jeff Tucker also went 5-for-6 and tacked on a home run and RBI.
- Jacob Yellovich added three RBIs in the opener.
- Nate Averill gave up 11 runs on 10 hits and was handed the loss despite striking out 10 batters.
- In game two, Roehler stayed red hot batting 3-for-5 with two RBIs including his second home run of the twinbill.
- Andy Swanson allowed seven runs on 12 hits in 5.2 innings and was dealt the loss on the mound for the Eagles.
UP NEXT
- Wisconsin Lutheran is off until Saturday when it hosts Aurora (20-16, 11-7 NACC) for Senior Day and its final NACC doubleheader of the season. The Spartans swept Edgewood in their last action on Sunday, 1-0 and 10-5. WLC will need two wins and rely on some help in order to qualify for the conference tournament.
