Box Score MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's basketball team picked up its first win of the season Tuesday night inside the Recreation Complex, defeating Concordia Chicago 106-98. The Warriors, who scored their most points since dropping 108 vs. Bethany Lutheran in 2007, connected on 49.3 percent (36-of-73) of their attempts from the floor and converted 80 percent (28-of-35) of their attempts from the charity stripe. It was also the first win for head coach Aaron Aanonsen at WLC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tyler De Young (Waupun, Wis.) scored six points in the first four minutes of the contest to give the Warriors an 8-7 advantage.
- Colin Biesterfeld (West Bend, Wis.) connected on a triple to push the WLC lead to four, and De Young buried a corner jumper on the ensuing possession to put the Warriors ahead by six.
- Paul Koier (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) entered the game and rejected a shot on one end, then converted a pick-and-roll with Mack Knueppel (Jackson, Wis.) to give WLC a 19-11 lead.
- The Cougars stormed back, using a 16-7 run to take a 27-26 lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the first half.
- Collin Kennedy (Holmen, Wis.) answered with a jumper to retake a 28-27 lead and Caleb Goldstein (Fond du Lac, Wis.) buried a three-pointer from the top of the key to push the WLC lead to four points.
- The Warriors rattled off eight straight points to take a 46-33 lead with just under a minute remaining, and Knueppel struck from deep again as the buzzer sounded to give WLC a 12-point halftime lead.
- The Warriors connected on 52.6 percent (20-of-38) from the field in the first half and held a 25-12 advantage on the boards, including 11 on the offensive end.
- Coming out of the locker room, Concordia Chicago used an 8-4 run to cut the WLC lead to just eight.
- The Cougars continued their hot shooting, and cut the Warriors lead to five with 14:30 remaining.
- Wisconsin Lutheran answered with an 11-4 run to push its lead to 12 with just over 12 minutes to play.
- The two teams traded free throw attempts, with WLC maintaining an 85-77 advantage with just over six minutes remaining.
- The Cougars converted a layup and a foul with 3:43 remaining to cut the Warriors lead to just four points, but Kennedy answered with four straight points to put WLC back up by eight.
- Chase Nowak (Milwaukee, Wis.) converted three free throws while Kennedy and Goldstein made layups to ice the game, giving the Warriors a 106-98 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kennedy led the offensive attack for the Warriors, pouring in a career-high 36 points, including 16 rebounds, seven coming on the offensive end. Kennedy connected on 12-of-14 of his attempts from the charity stripe. It was the 22nd double-double for his career.
- Nowak added 17 points and six rebounds, while De Young registered 14 points and nine rebounds.
- Koier added a solid effort off the bench, with seven points and nine rebounds, with four coming on the offensive glass.
- The Warriors controlled the backboards, out-rebounding the Cougars 49-29, including 20 offensive rebounds.
- WLC dished out 25 assists while committing 15 turnovers and forced 17 into CUC turnovers.
- Wisconsin Lutheran won its fourth straight game over Concordia Chicago.

- Mitch Pelissier led the way for Concordia Chicago with 22 points, while Jarek Hotwagner totaled 19 points and seven rebounds.
- Israel Dosie scored 17 points and Henry Woo scored eight points and dished out eight assists.
- The Cougars shot 49.3 percent (33-of-67) from the floor and connected on 10 three-pointers in the contest.
- CUC shot 75.9 percent (22-of-29) from the free throw line.
