Warriors Fifth At NACC Indoor Championships

KENOSHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's indoor track & field team competed at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships Saturday inside Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center and placed fifth among nine scoring teams with 53 points. WLC tied for its highest finish at the event since the 2004 season when it placed fourth.

  • Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) and Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.) finished third and fourth in the mile run with times of 4:28.62 and 4:29.05, respectively. Krahn and Bronner also finished back-to-back in the 3000 meters, placing seventh in a time of 9:19.11 and eighth in 9:22.84.
  • Jonah Jahns (Germantown, Wis.) sprinted to a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash, out running the competitors in his heat by 19 seconds, in a time of 50.57. Jahns also scored in the 200-meter dash, racing to a time of 23.19 seconds for seventh place.
  • The distance medley relay of Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie, Wis.), Tyler Punzel (Watertown, Wis.), Grant Schroeder (Manitowoc, Wis.), and Brady Stuck (Hubertus, Wis.) was fourth in a time of 11:17.17.
  • Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) leaped to a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 12.56 meters.
  • Todd O'Dell Jr. (Manteno, Ill.) tossed 12.41 meters in the weight throw for sixth place. Cole Kuehl (Richland, Mich.) also scored in the weight throw placing eighth with a distance of 11.96 meters.
  • Sasha Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn.) threw a distance of 12.71 meters in the shot put for fifth place in the 28-competitor field.
  • Javier Cano-Telles (Brown Deer, Wis.) raced to a fifth-place finish in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:27.15.
  • Joel Schamber (Wyoming, Mich.) ran a time of 8.92 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles preliminaries. In the finals, he placed third with a time of 8.38 seconds.
  • The men's 4x400-meter relay comprised of Jahns, Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.), Shemron Ross (Grand Anse, Grenada), and Schamber placed fifth in a time of 3:34.92.
  • Benedictine won eight events en route to its fourth straight indoor title with 181 points, 71 more than runner-up Aurora.

  • The Warriors will wrap up their indoor season with a pair of last chance meets next weekend at Carthage and UW-Stevens Point.
