Krahn's Record-Breaking Mile Leads Warriors In Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team traveled to the east coast to compete in the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational this past weekend. The Warriors recorded nine personal best performances and Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.) broke the mile record at the three-day event.

• Final Results: 17th of 20 (2 Points)
• Location: Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium, Myrtle Beach, S.C.

• Krahn raced to a seventh-place finish in the Mile seeded race, running a time of 4:27.31, breaking the previous WLC school record of 4:27.78, set by Chase Robles in 2015.
• The Warriors 4x800-Meter Relay team composed of Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie,Wis.), Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.), Tyler Punzel (Watertown, Wis,), and Krahn placed seventh in a time of 8:26.74, just 0.59 seconds shy of the school record.
• Bronner ran a personal best in the 3000 Meters in a time of 9:04.89, placing 14th in the 38-competitor field.
• Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) jumped a personal best in the Triple Jump with a mark of 13.18 meters, finishing 13th out of 25 competitors.
• Punzel and Grant Schroeder (Manitowoc, Wis.) both posted personal best times in the open Mile run, racing times of 4:48.51 and 5:00.39, respectively.
• TJ McBryde (Zumbrota, Minn.) and Dylan Chirigotis (Racine, Wis.) sprinted to personal best times in the 100-Meter dash running times of 11.49 seconds and 11.55 seconds, respectively. McBryde also raced a personal best of 23.59 seconds in the 200-Meter dash.
• Jared Traver (Janesville, Wis.) threw 38.60 meters in the Javelin, a personal best.
• Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) leaped a personal best in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.90 meters.
• Hampton won the 20-team scoring title with 21 points.

• The Warriors will take next weekend off and will resume competition Saturday, March 30 at the Carroll Invite in Waukesha. Competition will take place at Punches Track & Field Complex.
