Jahns, Schamber Win Titles Saturday In Waukesha

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team finished fourth out of 12 scoring teams with 72.5 points Saturday at the Gerry Reichert Invite hosted by Carroll. Jonah Jahns (Germantown, Wis.) and Joel Schamber (Wyoming, Mich.) each won titles for the Warriors.

  • Location: Punches Track and Field Complex, Waukesha, Wis.

  • Jahns sprinted to the title in the 29-competitor field of the 200, clocking in at a season-best time of 22.25 seconds. He also posted a season best in the 100 of 11.40 seconds, finishing third out of 39 sprinters.
  • Schamber was also first of 13 the 400 Hurdles, crossing the finish line in a time of 57.70 seconds.
  • Javier Cano-Telles (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished runner-up in 3,000 with a time of 9:12.25.
  • Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) leaped to a second-place finish in the Triple Jump with a distance of 12.53m. Bowling was also fourth in the Long Jump at 6.36m for fourth place.
  • Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.) placed third in the 1,500 in a time of 4:10.92. He also turned in a fourth-place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:01.16.
  • Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) cleared a height of 3.63m in the Pole Vault for fifth. Rodmyre also reached 1.65m in the High Jump for sixth place.
  • The 4x400 Relay team comprised of Rodmyre, Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie, Wis.), Tyler Punzel (Watertown, Wis.), and Seth Harrmann (New London, Wis.) was sixth, running a time of 3:52.78.
  • Tesch raced in the 400, posting a time of 55.05 seconds for seventh.
  • TJ McBryde (Zumbrota, Minn.) competed in the 200 and ran a lifetime best of 23.54 seconds for eighth place.
  • Jared Traver (Janesville, Wis.) placed eighth in the Javelin, throwing a distance of 36.40m.
  • Meet host Carroll won the meet with 146.5 points, 17.5 points better than runner-up Carthage. The Pioneers won four events on the day.

  • The Warriors travel to De Pere next Thursday for the St. Norbert Twilight. Events begin at 2:00 p.m. inside Schneider Stadium.
