Three Warriors Claim Top Finishes At St. Norbert Twilight

DE PERE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Javier Cano-Telles (Milwaukee, Wis.), Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.), and Joel Schamber (Wyoming, Mich.) each won events to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team to a second-place finish Thursday at the St. Norbert Twilight.

  • Cano-Telles was the first Warrior to claim a title Thursday in the 10,000m. He finished in a time of 33:15.55.
  • Krahn won the 14-competitor 1,500m with a time of 4:13.97. Tyler Punzel (Watertown, Wis.) and Brady Stuck (Germantown, Wis.) also finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the event with times of 4:22.83 and 4:24.74.
  • Schamber also won the 400m Hurdles, finishing first of six with a time of 58.22 seconds. He also placed second in the 110m Hurdles with a time of 16.50 seconds.
  • Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) leaped to a second-place finish in the Triple Jump (12.87m) and a third-place standing in the Long Jump (6.20m).
  • Five Warriors posted fourth-place finishes in their respective events with Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) in the 110m Hurdles (17.30 seconds), Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie, Wis.) in the 800m (2:04.29), Shemron Ross (Grand Anse, Grenada) in the 100m (11.67 seconds), and Jared Traver (Janesville, Wis.) in the Javelin (40.33m).
  • Todd O'Dell (Manteno, Ill.) recorded a fifth-place finish in the Hammer with a toss of 38.88m, and was eighth in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.57m.
  • Krahn finished seventh of 22 in the 800m with a time of 2:08.68, while Ross also was seventh in the 200m with a time of 23.94 seconds.
  • Jake Vallee (Marengo, Ill.) recorded a sixth-place finish in the Long Jump (6.01m), while Stuck and Adam Pagel (Kenosha, Wis.) posted eighth-place finishes in the 5000m (17:04.12) and Hammer (36.32m), respectively.
  • The Warriors 4x400m Relay was third in 3:57.70 and the 4x100m Relay fifth in 59.43 seconds.
  • Twilight host St. Norbert scored 147.5 points and won six events to top the 11-team field.

  • The Warriors will next compete Saturday, April 27 at the Drake Alternative Meet hosted by UW-Whitewater. Events from the Rex Foster Track begin at 11:00 a.m.
