  • The Eagles threatened right from the start as they loaded the bases with just one out in the opening frame but a nifty double play up the middle from Jake Schwall (West Allis, Wis.) and Ryan Dominick (Bartlett, Ill.) kept the guests off the board. WLC was unable to capitalize on a pair of singles in its opening frame as the score remained 0-0 after the first inning.
  • EC struck first with a two-out RBI single in the second to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Eagles sent 10 hitters to the plate in the third inning, scoring four runs on four hits to take a 5-0 lead.
  • EC pushed two more runs across in the top of the fourth inning to grow its lead to 7-0.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran cracked the scoring column in the fifth on an RBI groundout from Johnny Offenbacher (Waukesha, Wis.) to plate Nick Poblocki (Bartlett, Ill.).
  • WLC scored again in the sixth inning when a hit-and-run from Schwall plated Dominick following a fielding error by Edgewood to trim the deficit to 7-2.
  • The Eagles scored single tallies in both the eighth and ninth innings to extend their lead to 9-2.
  • The Warriors scored twice in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single from Brannigan Hart (Davie, Fla.) and a throwing error from the catcher to cut the deficit to 9-4.
  • Schwall, Hart, and Sid Lehman (Theresa, Wis.) each had two hits to pace the Warriors offense.
  • Dylan Knoespel (Brillion, Wis.) suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on eight hits in 2.1 innings.
