MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - Sophomore Michael Sheffler (Appleton, Wis.) broke an 11-year old school record in the Weight Throw on Saturday to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team at the non-scoring Panther Tune-Up.

  • Event: Panther Tune-Up
  • Final Results: No Team Scores
  • Location: Klotsche Center, Milwaukee, Wis.

  • Sheffler broke an 11-year old school record in the Weight Throw with a toss of 14.67 meters for seventh place. He bested the previous school record from 2009 of 14.31 meters. Sheffler also finished seventh in the Shot Put with a mark of 10.78 meters.
  • Junior Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) completed the Mile run in a time of 4:39.88 to earn third place.
  • Seniors Adam Pagel (Kenosha, Wis.) and Connor Young (Kenosha, Wis.) finished fourth and fifth in the Shot Put. Pagel tossed a personal-best distance of 11.86 meters, while Young recorded a mark of 11.53 meters.
  • Sophomore Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) placed sixth in the Pole Vault with a personal-best clearance of 3.83 meters. Rodmyre also scored a seventh-place finish in the Long Jump (6.10m) and an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles (9.00), a personal-best.
  • Sophomore Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) posted a mark of 12.89 meters in the Triple Jump for fifth place. Bowling also leaped to a sixth-place finish in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.33 meters.
  • Freshman Jacob Trietsch (Trafalgar, Ind.) cleared a personal-best height in the High Jump of 1.80-meters for eighth place.
  • Sophomore Tim Grant (Sun Prairie, Wis.) was eighth in the Shot Put with a distance of 7.73 meters.

  • "The week before conference is about fine-tuning things before the biggest meet of the year. We had some athletes drop down a race in distance or concentrate on only 1-2 events and it gave us some pleasant surprises this week. Michael Sheffler and Kendra Schumacher led the way with school records and we had a lot of PR's in limited competition. I believe we are setting ourselves up for some big PR's at conference next week." - Head Coach Eric Kramer

  • The Warriors will compete in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships next Saturday at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center in Kenosha. Competition is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. Live results will be available for the meet at WLCSports.com.
