Bowling's Runner-Up Finishes Leads Warriors At Red Hawk Invite

RIPON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Sophomore Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) posted two second-place finishes to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's indoor track & field team Saturday at the Red Hawk Invite hosted by Ripon.

  • Event: Red Hawk Invite
  • Final Results: 9th of 13 (21 Points)
  • Location: Willmore Center, Ripon, Wis.

  • Bowling sprinted to a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 7.23 seconds in his first collegiate running event. Bowling also leaped to another second-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 12.98m.
  • Junior Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) ran a personal-best time in the 5000-meter run as he finished fifth in 16:32.07.
  • Junior Sam Boone (Mindoro, Wis.) also qualified for the 60-meter dash finals finishing eighth in a time of 7.66 seconds.

  • "This week we started a new training cycle with increased intensity both in the weight room and on the track and that can lead to increased fatigue. A school record in the women's 4x200 relay and 33 PR's is an amazing way to respond to the training. I'm excited to see how both teams respond as we head into championship season." - Head Coach Eric Kramer

  • The Warriors return to the Wilmore Center next Saturday to compete in the Dick Hendricks Invite. Competition is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
