Wisconsin Lutheran Falls To League Champs In Season Finale

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team wrapped up its 2021 season on Thursday night against NACC co-champion MSOE. The Raiders defeated the Warriors 5-0 on a rainy night at Viets Field.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (4-13-1, 3-9-1 NACC), MSOE (16-3-0, 12-1-0 NACC)
• Location: Viets Field, Milwaukee, Wis.

• The Raiders were held off the scoreboard for the first 14 minutes of the match before they scored twice within a 24-second span in the 15th minute for a 2-0 lead.
• Junior Katie Wasiak's (Muskego, Wis.) free kick that caromed off the crossbar in the 22nd minute was the Warriors' best scoring chance of the first half.
• MSOE scored its third goal of the first half in the 30th minute for a 3-0 halftime lead.
• The Red and White netted the final two goals of the match in the 67th and 70th minutes for the five-goal advantage.
• WLC had a pair of shots on goal in the second half from senior Miriam Carreno (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
• Wasiak and Miller had three shots each for Wisconsin Lutheran, which finished with nine for the match.
• Sophomore Sierra Kannas (Watertown, S.D.) stopped nine shots in the contest.

• The Warriors wrap up their 2021 season with a 4-13-1 overall record and a 3-9-1 mark in the NACC.
