Boone, Bowling Win Two Events At Meet For Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's outdoor track & field team hosted its first official meet on Catalyst Track on Friday. The Warriors scored 102 points to place third out of five scoring teams at the Meet For Milwaukee.

• Final Results: 3rd of 5 (102 Points)
• Location: Raabe Stadium, Milwaukee, Wis.

• Senior Sam Boone (Mindoro, Wis.) posted a pair of first-place finishes in his only two events. He won the 100m in 11.42 seconds and later topped the 22-sprinter field of the 200m with a winning time of 23.37.
• Junior Keith Bowling (Jefferson, Wis.) also came out on top in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump with marks of 6.40m and 12.49m, respectively.
• Junior Sam Rodmyre (Federal Way, Wash.) recorded two of the Warriors' three runner-up finishes, running 16.99 in the 110m Hurdles and tossing a distance of 41.13 in the Javelin.
• Freshman Jeff Zeh (Jefferson, Wis.) also posted a second-place finish in the 100m with a time of 11.51 seconds.
• Concordia Wisconsin won five events and posted the top men's team score with 164 points. 

• "What a way to open the outdoor season! For most of our team, it's been 22 months since our last outdoor meet. The men's team did great with 15 PR's and four event wins. Not to be outdone, the women's team had 31 PR's, seven event wins, and capped it off with a new school record by Kendra Schumacher in the 200. We also didn't have a majority of our distance athletes racing so they can be ready for the cross country conference championships next week. We've put in some heavy work in less than ideal weather over the last two weeks, so I'm very proud of how well both teams performed." - Head Coach Eric Kramer

• The Warriors will compete next Saturday, March 27 at the Carroll Alumni Invitational. Events are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. in Waukesha.
