Box Score 2 WHITEWATER, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College softball team was defeated in both games of a non-conference doubleheader against UW-Whitewater on Sunday, falling to the Warhawks by scores of 8-2 and 17-0 in five innings.

- Freshman Ashley Corley (Plainfield, Ill.) leadoff the game with a solo home run to left field, her third of the season, to give the Warriors an early 1-0 lead.
- The Warhawks evened the score in the bottom half of the inning with a two-out RBI double.
- Corley's one-out single in the third inning scored senior Charolette Ropas (New Berlin, Wis.) who scored from second on two throwing errors.
- Whitewater knotted the score at 2-2 in the third on a one-out RBI single through the left side.
- UWW added three runs to its total in the fourth inning after a leadoff homerun and two-RBI single.
- After WLC stranded two runners on the fifth, the Warhawks scored twice in their half inning on a RBI double and fielding error.
- Trailing 8-2 in the seventh, Wisconsin Lutheran threatened by loading the bases with just one out, but Whitewater escaped the jam by retiring the final two batters.
- Corley was 3-for-4 with a RBI and run scored for the Warriors. Almodovar allowed seven runs on 10 hits over four innings in the circle.
- The Warhawks scored early and often in game two, tallying runs in their first four innings.
- After a one-out RBI groundout in the first, Whitewater scored eight runs in the second inning off five hits to jump out to a big lead.
- UWW added a two-run home run in the third and tacked on six more runs in the fourth to finish off the sweep.
- Freshman Lexi Martin (Westfield, Ind.) went 2-for-2 and collected half of the Warriors' hits in the contest. WLC was plagued by four miscues in the field which led to a total of nine unearned runs.
- Sophia Kinjerski and Meghan Dunning each went 2-for-4 for the Warhawks in game one. Kinjerski had three RBI while Dunning scored twice and drove in two. Kate Cleveland allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings to earn the win.
- Dunning and Taylor Briehl each went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs scored in game two. Kathryn Kinsella gave up four hits and didn't allow a run over five innings to pick up the win.
