Box Score 2 WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Behind a walk-off single from junior Josh Enevold (Jackson, Wis.) in game one, the Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball team earned a split in a doubleheader against Benedictine on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors claimed game one 1-0 before the Eagles took game two by a score of 4-2 at Neumann Family Baseball Field.

- Both teams put runners in scoring position in the first inning, but both pitchers were able to avoid any runs scoring. Warriors senior pitcher Jake Wiedower (St. Francis, Wis.) got a pair of Eagles pitchers to fly out, and Benedictine escaped the bottom of the first with a double play.
- The starting pitchers settled into a groove in the following innings, with both hurlers missing bats on a consistent basis. Over the next five innings, Benedictine starter Stephen Sewruk struck out nine batters, while Wiedower struck out eight Eagles.
- In the seventh, Wisconsin Lutheran turned to the bullpen, with freshman Hunter Martin (Whitewater, Wis.) taking over on the mound. Benedictine put a pair of runners on base, but Martin retired the next three batters to keep the game scoreless. Freshman Cooper Pease (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) doubled to lead off the Warriors half of the seventh, but he was stranded on second.
- With the game still scoreless heading to the ninth, Benedictine stranded a runner on second in the top half of the inning after freshman Andrew Muffler (Waukesha, Wis.) got a groundout to send the game to the bottom of the ninth.
- Junior Ryan Dominick (Barlett, Ill.) led off the ninth with a single to left and advanced to second on a bunt by Cooper Pease. The Eagles got the second out on a groundout and then intentionally walked junior Nick Poblocki (Barlett, Ill.) to put two runners on. Enevold delivered the big hit, lining a ball over the head of the first baseman to score Dominick for a 1-0 walk-off win.
- Wiedower tossed six shutout innings, striking out eight while allowing five hits. Muffler picked up the win to improve to 2-0 on the season with his scoreless ninth inning.
- Cooper Pease finished 2-for-3 to lead the team, as WLC's offense recorded five total hits.
- Benedictine opened the scoring in game two with a RBI single in the second inning. The Warriors put two runners on in the bottom of the third but were unable to tie the game as a groundout ended the threat.
- The Eagles added a run in the top of the fourth on a home run over the wall in left center field.
- WLC tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of runs on three hits. Sophomore Carter Raabe (Mukwonago, Wis.) singled to lead off the inning and sophomore Dylan Pease (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) reached base on a perfect bunt. Dominick reached on a fielder's choice to put runners on the corners, and Raabe scored on an error by the second baseman on a stolen base. Enevold drove home Dominick with a single to even the score.
- Benedictine regained the lead in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center field and a triple to right center. The visitors led 4-2 heading into the seventh-inning stretch.
- In their final three at-bats, the Warriors were able to put a runner on via a walk but were unable to come up with a clutch hit as the Eagles won game two.
- Enevold and freshman Foster Engelhardt (North Richland Hills, Texas) both finished 2-for-4 to lead the Warriors offense.
- On the mound, sophomore Evan Theis (Richfield, Wis.) was handed the loss after allowing four runs in six and two-thirds innings.
- Sewruk earned the no-decision in game one, throwing seven scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out 11. Simon Harold was charged with the loss after allowing one run across one and two-thirds innings.
- Jack Surin recorded three hits in the second game while Justin Sosa picked up the win in relief, allowing no runs across three innings while striking out five.
