Warriors Suffer Sunday Setback To Pioneers

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 non-conference setback to the Carroll Pioneers on Sunday afternoon at Warriors Soccer Field. 

• Final Score: Carroll 5, Wisconsin Lutheran 0
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-4-0), Carroll (4-0-1)
• Location: Warriors Soccer Field, Wauwatosa, Wis.

• The Pioneers netted a pair of first-half goals in the 3rd and 14th minutes for a 2-0 lead over the Warriors.
• WLC placed two of their five shots on target in the opening 45 minutes, but couldn't find the back of the net.
• Carroll scored less than a minute into the second half and added its fourth goal two minutes later. CU's final tally of the game came in the 74th minute.
• Wisconsin Lutheran had five shots on frame in the second half, but was held off the scoreboard.
• The Green and White finished with nine shots for the game, including two each from seniors Maggie Stebbins (Beaver Dam, Wis.) and Miriam Carreno (San Antonio, Texas) and junior Elena Velasquez (Milwaukee, Wis.). 

• The Warriors play their second straight home game on Wednesday when they open conference play against Marian (0-3-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Live coverage links will be available for the match at WLCSports.com.
