Warriors Blanked By Falcons In Mequon

MEQUON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat to the hands of the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Wednesday afternoon at Fitting Field. CUW scored two goals in each half, despite out-shooting WLC by just four shots for the game.

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (1-7-0, 0-3-0 NACC), Concordia Wisconsin (4-1-0, 3-0-0 NACC)
• Location: Fitting Field, Mequon, Wis.

• The Falcons found the back of the net first in the 26th minute of the first half after their two previous attempts were stopped by Warriors sophomore goalkeeper Sierra Kannas (Watertown, S.D.).
• Sophomore Signe Kind (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) and senior Maggie Stebbins (Beaver Dam, Wis.) each placed shots on the goal over the next eight minutes but were unsuccessful in finding the back of the net.
• CUW scored its second goal of the opening half with just over a minute left on the clock for a 2-0 halftime lead.
• Karoline Haugland netted both of Concordia Wisconsin's second-half goals in the 62nd and 73rd minutes for the 4-0 result.
• Wisconsin Lutheran put five shots on frame in the second half, but was held off the scoreboard.
• Junior Katie Wasiak (Muskego, Wis.) recorded seven of WLC's 11 shots for the game, including two on frame. Stebbins and freshman Ella Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also had two shots on target.
• Kannas finished the contest by making seven saves.

• The Warriors return home on Saturday to host Dominican (5-1-2, 3-0-0 NACC) in a NACC afternoon match. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Live coverage links will be available at WLCSports.com.
