WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College won the Warrior Invitational for the third straight year on Saturday at Greenfield Park.
The Warriors scored 49 points to finish atop the eight-team scoring field. Northwestern was second with 71 points. Sophomore
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) was the overall 8K race winner, finishing first in the 84-runner field with a time of 27:10.1. He became the eighth Warrior to win an individual title in the 22-year history of the home invite.
WLC's second finisher was freshman
Jack Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) who placed 11th with a time of 28:25.7. Junior
Jaden Schultz (Havana, Ill.) and freshman
Michael Miller (Waukesha, Wis.) placed 13th and 14th with times of 28:33.9 and 28:42.5, respectively. Junior
August Davis (Springfield, Ill.) finished 18th with a time of 29:04.3.
Wisconsin Lutheran will race next Saturday, October 8 at the Gene Davis Invitational at Reid Municipal Golf Course in Appleton. The men's 8K race starts at 12 p.m.
