APPLETON, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College finished third out of nine teams at the Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday at Reid Municipal Golf Course.
The Warriors, who finished three points back of second-place Ripon, totaled 73 points and had three runners finish in the top-14. UW-Oshkosh won the team title with 35 points. Aleksander Wormuth from Minnesota Running Club was the overall 8K race winner with a time of 25:20.7 in the 136-runner field.
For WLC, junior
Peyton Hartman (Montgomery, Ill.) was eighth overall with a personal-best time of 25:58.6, junior
Zeke Micheel (Salt Lake City, Utah) placed 13th with a personal-best time of 26:16.6, and sophomore
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) finished right behind in 14th with a personal-best time of 26:18.1. Freshman
Michael Miller (Waukesha, Wis.) was 36th with a season-best time of 27:16.0 and sophomore
Adam Kriefall (New Berlin, Wis.) placed 42nd with a season-best time of 27:30.2.
Wisconsin Lutheran will next host the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday, October 15 at Greenfield Park in West Allis. The men's 8K race is scheduled for a Noon start.
