Wisconsin Lutheran Falls To Bethel In Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College baseball team suffered a 14-1 defeat to the Bethel Royals on Monday at the Lee County Player Development Complex. 

• Final Score: Bethel (Minn.) 14, Wisconsin Lutheran 1
• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (0-5), Bethel (Minn.) (5-2)
• Location: Lee County Player Development Complex, Fort Myers, Fla.

• After a scoreless first inning, the Royals plated five runs on five hits in the second inning, with all runs scoring after two outs.
• The Warriors loaded the bases with just one out in the fourth inning, but could only muster one run. Senior Ethan Orcutt (East Dubuque, Ill.) had WLC's fourth hit of the inning which drove home sophomore Foster Engelhardt (North Richland Hills, Texas) for the team's first run of the game.
• BU added sacrifice flies in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 7-1 lead over Wisconsin Lutheran. The home team on the scoreboard added four runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth to account for the final runs of the game.
• Seniors Josh Enevold (Jackson, Wis.), Matthew Schulenburg (Hampshire, Ill.), and junior Danny Cain (Jackson, Wis.) tallied two hits apiece for the Green and White. 
• The Warriors finished with nine hits for the game and stranded five runners on base. 

• The Warriors are back on the diamond early tomorrow for a doubleheader against Defiance (2-2). First pitch from the Terry Park Sports Complex is scheduled for 8 a.m. CST. Live coverage links will be available for both games at WLCSports.com.
