Wisconsin Lutheran Drops Non-Conference Contest To Pioneers

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College scored two first-inning runs but host Carroll responded with multiple runs over five of six innings, as the Pioneers defeated the Warriors 15-4 in non-conference baseball action on a chilly Monday afternoon at Frame Park.

• The Warriors plated a pair of first-inning runs when senior Nick Poblocki (Bartlett, Ill.) hit a two-out home run to left field that scored senior Ryan Dominick (Bartlett, Ill.) for a 2-0 lead.
• The Pioneers responded with four runs on three hits in the bottom half of the first to take the lead for good. 
• CU added to its total with three runs each over the next three innings to take a 13-2 lead.
• WLC added single tallies in both the fifth and sixth innings when senior Josh Enevold (Jackson, Wis.) single scored freshman Tyler Danko (Milwaukee, Wis.) and senior Matthew Schulenburg (Hampshire, Ill.) crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
• Carroll scored its final two runs of the game in the sixth to clinch the win in seven innings.
• Schulenburg went 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead the Warriors at the plate. Poblocki added two RBI and a run scored on his second home run of the year.
• Dominick and Danko added a hit and run scored for WLC, which finished with six hits for the game.
