Baseball Suffers NACC-Opening Sweep To Stars

• Records: Wisconsin Lutheran (3-9, 0-2 NACC), Dominican (9-5, 2-0 NACC)
• Location: Kapco Park, Mequon, Wis.

• The Stars scored a first-inning run on a one-out RBI double to take an early 1-0 lead over the Warriors.
• After DU left a pair of runners in scoring position in the third, WLC knotted the score at 1-1 in its half of the frame when senior Josh Enevold's (Jackson, Wis.) RBI single brought home freshman Noah Zaccanti (Geneva, Ill.).
• Wisconsin Lutheran starter Fabio Kamitani (Naviraí, Brazil) allowed just two Dominican batters to reach from the fourth through seventh innings. 
• The Green and White had their first two batters reach in the sixth, but couldn't advance them over before the inning ended.
• The Warriors also threatened in the eighth with a one-out double from Enevold and an intentional walk drawn by senior Nick Poblocki (Bartlett, Ill.).
• The Stars scored four runs on three hits in their half of the ninth to take a 5-1 lead, and stranded two WLC runners on base in the bottom half as the final score read 5-1.
• Kamitani allowed just one run on four hits while striking out six over seven innings on the mound for a no-decision. The junior lowered his season earned run average to 0.90. Enevold led Wisconsin Lutheran with three hits, while senior Ryan Dominick (Bartlett, Ill.) tallied two in the opener.

• The Stars struck first again in the nightcap, scoring three runs on two hits for a 3-0 first-inning lead. DU added two more to its total in the third on a two-out, two-run double for a five-run lead.
• Dominican loaded the bases twice in the fifth inning, but managed just one run thanks to a nifty 5-2-3 inning-ending double play turned by the Warriors.
• WLC plated a pair of runs in its half of the fifth when Dominick's single to right field sent home senior Ethan Orcutt (East Dubuque, Ill.) and freshman Tyler Danko (Milwaukee, Wis.).
• Following a pair of scoreless frames, the Stars scored four times on just one hit in the eighth inning to extend their lead to eight runs.
• Wisconsin Lutheran started the eighth inning with three straight singles, but was held to just one run as junior Glavine Matthes (Appleton, Wis.) scored on a fielder's choice groundout from Poblocki.
• Dominick led the Green and White at the dish in game two with two hits and two RBI. Five other players recorded one hit each.

• The Warriors are back at Kapco Park tomorrow afternoon for a NACC doubleheader against Concordia Wisconsin (6-10, 0-2 NACC). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Live coverage links will be available for both games at WLCSports.com.
