BRISTOL, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College put together a pair of top-10 rounds in program history on Friday and Saturday at the Carthage Battle on the Border at Bristol Oaks Golf Club, finishing 11th out of 15 teams at the season-opening tournament.
The Warriors finished with round scores of 377-369--746 to finish 11th out of 15 teams. UW-Whitewater won the team title with a 315-306--621. Aurora's Kallie Sakamoto earned medalist honors in the 89-player field with a 76-77--153.
Junior
Sarah Bridenhagen (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) led WLC with a 92-91--183 to finish in a tie for 48th place. Junior
Maddie O'Keefe (Erin, Wis.) was one shot back with a 92-92--184 in 50th place.
Senior
Charley Fleek (Albert Lea, Minn.) finished in a tie for 52nd with a 93-93--186 and sophomore
Taylor Peterson (Beloit, Wis.) finished tied for 63rd with a 100-93--193. Senior
Miranda Noon (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) rounded out the team score with a 109-95--204 for the biggest improvement on the team over the two rounds.
Individually, freshman
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) (97-101--198) and sophomores
Reagan Barr (Tucson, Ariz.) (101-109--210) and
Rebecca Schildgen (Beloit, Wis.) (107-111--218) finished tied for 70th, 77th, and 80th, respectively.
Wisconsin Lutheran will host its own triangular on Thursday, September 8 at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa. Tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
