KANSASVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College placed 31st out of 39 teams at the highly competitive Midwest Region Fall Classic on Friday at Brighton Dale Links. The Warriors carded a team score of 380 (+92) in the first round, before Saturday's second round was halted due to weather deeming first round results as final.
For WLC, senior
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) (92, +20) led the way with a tie for 144th place. Junior
Madison Wagner (Green Bay, Wis.) (94, +22) followed in a tie for 160th, while freshman
Claire Peterson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) (95, +23) finished tied for 165th. Sophomore
Macy Grover (Janesville, Wis.) (99, +27) placed in a tie for 180th, and sophomore
Lucia Giurdanella (Downers Grove, Ill.) (100, +28) tied for 183rd.
Three Warriors also competed as individuals. Senior
Brynn Boche (Ixonia, Wis.) (120, +48) tied for 213th, sophomore
Claire Boche (Ixonia, Wis.) (134, +62) finished 222nd, and freshman
Dessa Komitas (Mendota, Ill.) (141, +69) placed 223rd.
Northwestern-St. Paul captured the team title with a score of 303 (+15), edging Aurora (310, +22) and UW-Oshkosh (316, +28). Paige Johnson of Northwestern-St. Paul was the individual medalist, firing an even-par round of 72 to top the 226-player field.
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts the WLC Quadrangular on Thursday at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa. Tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
