Wisconsin Lutheran Battles Tough Competition, Conditions At UWW Spring Invite

Barr registers career low in second straight event

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College finished 11th at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invite played Friday and Saturday at Riverside Golf Course.

The Warriors, who played 27 holes on Friday and the final nine on Saturday, finished with a 383-373--756 for 11th place in the 14-team field. Host UW-Whitewater won the invitational with a 308-312--620. UWW's Ellie Johnson topped the 84-player field with a 72-75--147 to earn medalist honors. 

Junior Sarah Bridenhagen (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) tied for 44th with a 93-91--184 to lead WLC. Senior Charley Fleek (Albert Lea, Minn.) tied for 47th with a 91-94--185.

Junior Maddie O'Keefe (Erin, Wis.) and freshman Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) tied for 63rd with a 195. Sophomore Reagan Barr (Tucson, Ariz.) made a 12-stroke improvement with a career-low 94 over the final 18 holes. She tied for 66th with a 106-94--200.

Wisconsin Lutheran wraps up its 2022-2023 season next Saturday, April 29 when it hosts the WLC Spring Invitational at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford. Tee time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
