KANSASVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College carded a 36-hole school record at the Midwest Region Fall Classic played on Friday and Saturday at Brighton Dale Links.
The Warriors, who finished tied for 21st out of 33 scoring teams, fired a two-round school record team score of 339-354--693 (+117) on the par 72, 5,637-yard course layout. UW-Whitewater won the tournament title by five shots with a 318-305--623. Kallie Lux of UW-Whitewater earned medalist honors in the 194-player field with a 74-74--148.
Senior
Maddie O'Keefe (Erin, Wis.) led the WLC lineup with an 82-84--116 for a 52nd-place tie. Junior
Taylor Houston (Beloit, Wis.) tied for 91st with an 85-89--174. Houston's first round 85 was a career-low.
Graduate student
Charley Fleek (Albert Lea, Minn.) tied for 99th with an 85-90--175. Senior
Sarah Bridenhagen (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) tied for 113th with an 87-91--178, and sophomore
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) rounded out the team scoring with a 94-99--193.
Wisconsin Lutheran plays the first two rounds of the NACC Championship next Saturday and Sunday at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Illinois. Live results will be available for both tournament rounds at WLCSports.com.
