KENOSHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its 2024 indoor track & field season on Saturday with select team members competing at the Firebird First Invitational at Carthage's Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.Â
Junior
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) placed third out of 12 competitors in his first-ever 3,000m with a time of 8:57.73. Sophomore
Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) was fifth in the prelims of the 55m with a time of 6.66 seconds. Freshman
Zachary Tipton (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished ninth in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 9.02 seconds.
Senior
Ashlee Mueller (Fredonia, Wis.) posted a 16th-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:40.11. Sophomore
Leah Schmidt (Bonduel, Wis.) placed 20th in the Weight Throw with a toss of 10.71m.
WLC competes next Saturday at the Lake Michigan Open hosted by UW-Parkside at Frank Petretti Fieldhouse in Kenosha.
