GENEVA, Ill. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College recorded its third straight runner-up finish at the 2024 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday at Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course.
The Warriors, who finished second out of nine scoring teams with 77 points, posted their fourth runner-up team finish at the championships in the last five seasons.
Senior
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) placed fifth overall out of 93 runners to lead WLC with an 8K time of 25:43.18. The top-15 finish earned him a third straight All-NACC honor.
Senior
Adam Kriefall (New Berlin, Wis.) finished 18th, just three spots back of earning All-NACC, with a time of 26:47.04. Junior
Josh Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) was 22nd with a time of 27:04.44, and senior
Jack Staggs (Oostburg, Wis.) was 30th with a time of 27:27.82. Sophomore
Arnold Rupnow (Watertown, Wis.) rounded out Wisconsin Lutheran's team score in 35th with a time of 27:42.77.
MSOE won its fourth straight NACC title by totaling 21 points, placing all five of its scoring runners inside the top-7. Xander Gottner of MSOE won the individual 8K championship race with a time of 24:59.91.
The Warriors have a week off before they compete in the NCAA Division III North Regional on Saturday, November 16 in Northfield, Minnesota. The men's 8K race starts at 12 p.m.
