JANESVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College wrapped up its 2024 spring season at the UW-Whitewater Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Riverside Golf Course.
The Warriors finished 15th with a two-day tournament total of 394-401--795. Illinois Wesleyan, which bested second-place Aurora by 16 strokes, topped the 16-team field with a team score of 317-311--628. Abbey Filipiak of UW-Stout claimed medalist honors by two shots with a 78-75--153.
Senior
Sarah Bridenhagen (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) led WLC with an 86-95--181 for a 54th-place tie in the field of 85 players. Her first round score was the lowest of the tournament by a Wisconsin Lutheran golfer.
Freshman
Madison Wagner (Green Bay, Wis.) made the biggest improvement on the team from round one to round two, carding a 105-94--199. Her second round score set a season low. Sophomore
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) was the third Warrior scorer with a 102-101--203, while junior
Rebecca Schildgen (Beloit, Wis.) rounded out lineup with a 101-111--212.Â
WLC concludes its season re-setting the program record book with the top eight team rounds relative to par in program history.
