BRISTOL, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College opened its 2024 season on Friday and Saturday at the Battle On The Border at Bristol Oaks Golf Club.
The Warriors finished 14th at the season-opening, two-day event with a team score of 382-407--789.
Junior
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) topped all WLC scorecards with a two-round total of 84-103--187. Her opening round score on Friday bested her previous career low by three strokes.
Freshman
Lucia Giurdanella (Downers Grove, Ill.) recorded a 97-102--199 in her first collegiate tournament. Freshman
Macy Grover (Janesville, Wis.) carded a 103-101--204 also in her collegiate debut. Sophomore
Madison Wagner (Green Bay, Wis.) and senior
Rebecca Schildgen (Beloit, Wis.) rounded out the team scoring for Wisconsin Lutheran with a 98-109--207 and 107-101--208, respectively.Â
Individually, freshman
Delaney McCoy (West Bend, Wis.) turned in a 97-100--197.Â
UW-Whitewater won the 18-team tournament with a two-round total of 310-309--619. Kalie Lux of UW Whitewater bested three other players in a scorecard playoff to earn medalist honors in the 110-player field with a 77-77-154.
The Warriors will next host the WLC Invitational on Friday, September 13 at Dretzka Park Golf Course in Milwaukee. Tee time is scheduled for 12 p.m.
