KENOSHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College scored 44.5 points for a fourth-place finish at the season-opening Firebird First Invitational hosted by Carthage on Saturday at Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
The Warriors claimed the first three places of the 3,000m, as senior
Isaiah Herried (Necedah, Wis.) won the event with a personal-best time of 8:50.02, sophomore
Arnold Rupnow (Watertown, Wis.) was second in 9:06.21, while sophomore
Noah Micheel (Mequon, Wis.) was third in 9:41.51.
Freshman
Nathan Stafford (Neenah, Wis.) finished second in the Pole Vault with a height of 3.95m.
Freshmen
Sam Ehlke (Jackson, Wis.) and
Jack Herried (Necedah, Wis.) were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the Triple Jump with marks of 13.38m and 12.48m.
Junior
Abuchi Osuala (Milwaukee, Wis.) tied for seventh in the Long Jump with a leap of 6.32m.
Freshmen
Caden Strubbe (Madison, Wis.) and
Evan Hadler (Cedarburg, Wis.) came in seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400m with times of 54.39 seconds and 54.97 seconds.
Meet host Carthage won four events and scored 142 points to claim the six-team scoring title.
WLC competes next Saturday at the Aurora Grand Prix at Gately Park in Chicago, Illinois. Events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
