MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College seniors
Connor Martin (Chino, Calif.) and
Drew Mears (Appleton, Wis.) have been named to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region 5 Team, the organization announced today. The recognition adds to an already impressive list of postseason accolades for the veteran standouts, both of whom were First Team All-NACC selections this fall.
Martin, a senior safety, anchored the Warriors' secondary throughout the 2025 season. The First Team All-NACC defender led WLC with three interceptions and eight pass break-ups, while also registering 25.0 total tackles, a sack, fumble recovery, and a blocked kick.Â
Mears, a senior punter and First Team All-NACC honoree, delivered one of the finest punting seasons in program history. He punted 43 times for a school-record 41.3-yard average, a mark that led the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and currently ranks 13th in NCAA Division III. Mears was a field-position weapon all year long, placing 15 punts inside the opponent's 20-yard line with just one touchback, and he did not have a single punt blocked. He also recorded four punts of 50 yards or longer, highlighted by a season-long 61-yard punt on November 8 at Rockford.
WLC finished its 2025 campaign 5-5 overall and 5-3 in the NACC, clinching consecutive winning NACC seasons for the first time since 2015–2016.
