STURTEVANT, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Wisconsin Lutheran College began its 2025 women's golf season on Friday and Saturday at the Ives Grove Firebird Fall Classic hosted by Carthage at Ives Grove Golf Links.
The Warriors finished with a two-day team score of 371-376--747 for 15th place at the season-opening event.
Senior
Kaylea Affeld (Watertown, Wis.) tied for 68th to lead WLC with a 94-89--183. Freshman
Claire Peterson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) finished one shot back in 71st with a 91-93--184 at her first collegiate event.
Sophomore
Macy Grover (Janesville, Wis.) was 73rd with a 91-96--187. Junior
Madison Wagner (Green Bay, Wis.) tied for 81st with a 98-98--196. Sophomore Lucia Guirdanella (Downers Grove, Ill.) rounded out Wisconsin Lutheran's lineup with a 95-102--197.
Aurora topped the 18-team tournament field by 22 strokes over runner-up Northwestern-St. Paul with a 307-301--608. Thanpimol Tharpanawongwech of Aurora and Lexi Manteufel of Carthage shared individual medalist honors in the 90-player field with a 149.
The Warriors next host the WLC Invitational on Friday at Washington County Golf Course in Hartford. Tee time is scheduled for 11:10 a.m.
