Warriors speared by Spartans

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque Spartans piled up 655 yards of total offense, scoring early and often, as they handed the Warriors a 63-3 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Chalmers Field.

The Spartans put up 20 first quarter points and led 27-0 midway through the second quarter before WLC put their only points of the day on the board, a 25-yard Tim Reichelt field goal.

Dubuque quarterback Jermar Jackson was one of three Spartans to rush for over 100 yards. He rushed for 137 yards and threw for 211, scoring five touchdowns.

Larry Hairl carried the ball 17 times for 87 yards, an average of 5.1 yards per carry.

Nate Rosenberg led the Warrior defense, who forced two turnovers on the day, with 10 tackles, including one sack.

Wisconsin Lutheran (1-1) will round out its non-conference schedule next Saturday when the Warriors travel to Mequon to face the Concordia University (Wis.) Falcons. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Century Stadium.
