RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Sophomore Ally Dunavant
(Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) scored a goal four minutes
into overtime to send the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer
team to a 2-1 win over Concordia University Chicago on Tuesday
afternoon.
Dunavant scored the game-winning goal 4:40 into the overtime
period off of a loose ball from a corner kick to send Wisconsin
Lutheran home with the victory.
The Warriors jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 32:42 mark of the
first half when junior Catie Schultz (Green Bay, Wis./N.E.W.
Lutheran) found the back of the net unassisted. WLC led 1-0 at
halftime.
Concordia Chicago knotted the game at one apiece with just over
73 minutes gone to send the game into an eventual extra
session.
Wisconsin Lutheran attempted 13 shots in the contest, compared
to 10 attempted by the Cougars. Trish Mahnke (Appleton, Wis./Fox
Valley Lutheran) finished with a game-high five shots for the
Warriors. Sophomore goalkeeper Katie Sloan (Omaha, Neb./Nebraska
Lutheran) had four saves in the match.
Wisconsin Lutheran (3-11, 3-5 NAC) hosts NAC foe Edgewood
College on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Warrior Field.
