NEW BERLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran
College men's tennis team was defeated by the Concordia University
Chicago Cougars 5-4 in a Northern Athletics Conference match on
Friday at the Princeton Club.
The NAC dual was originally scheduled to be played last
Saturday, but was suspended through doubles play due to weather.
Concordia Chicago won the first four flights of singles competition
before the Warriors won flights five and six by default.
Wisconsin Lutheran took two of three matches in doubles
competition. Alex Allister (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) and
Mike Reimer (Sheboygan, Wis./South) partnered to defeat Thein Van
and Chayanne Martinez, 8-6. Jon Jossart (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) and Arik McGathey (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) won at
No. 3 doubles by default.
Wisconsin Lutheran (1-9, 1-7 NAC) concludes its season this
weekend when it competes in the NAC Men's Tennis Championship at
Pleasant Valley Tennis Club in Jackson, Wis., on Saturday and
Sunday.
