blanked Wisconsin Lutheran College 9-0 on Saturday in a Northern
Athletics Conference men's tennis dual match at Taylor Park.
The Stars (7-6, 4-1 NAC) overpowered Wisconsin Lutheran in all
nine flights, sweeping all six singles matches and three doubles
matches.
Alex Allister (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) started the
matches at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Andrew Vattercot.
At No. 2 singles Steve Carran (Beaver Dam, Wis./Luther Preparatory)
was defeated by Zlatan Hodzic 6-2, 6-1 and Mike Reimer (Sheboygan,
Wis./South) was beaten 6-1, 6-3 by Gregory Tabaka at No. 3 singles.
Rounding out singles action, Joseph Workman (McLean, Va./Langley)
was defeated by Matt Sarantopoulos 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, while
Marco Colapietro defeated Jon Jossart (Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin
Lutheran) 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.
Allister and Reimer were upended in doubles action by Vatterott
and Hodzic 8-0 at No. 1, while Workman and Carran were beaten 8-3
at No. 2 doubles by Tabaka and Eduardo Gaytan.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-3, 0-3 NAC) will return to action later
today to face off against Concordia University Chicago in a NAC
dual match in River Forrest, Ill.
