ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's tennis team dropped a pair of Northern Athletics Conference
dual matches to Rockford College and Aurora University by 8-1
scores on Saturday at the Boylan Tennis Center.
The Warriors fell to the Regents in their first match of the day
after RC won eight of nine flights, including two via forfeit.
WLC's first flight victory of the year came at No. 4 singles when
sophomore Matt Pautz (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) defeated
Matt Zawadzki 6-4, 6-3.
In its second match of the afternoon, WLC suffered the same
result to the Spartans, falling by a final of 8-1. AU collected
eight of nine flight victories, including two via forfeit. Pautz
posted his second win of the day again at No. 4 singles by
defeating David Gray 6-4, 6-2. The Warriors No. 1 doubles team of
seniors Mike Reimer (Sheboygan, Wis./South) and Jon Jossart
(Brookfield, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) lost a closely contested
match to Gray and Ben Wilder, 9-7.
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-6, 0-6 NAC) next travels to Lakeland
College (0-5, 0-3 NAC) on Tuesday for a 2:30 p.m. NAC dual match
with the Muskies at the Sports Core in Kohler, Wis.
