KOHLER, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College
men's tennis team was defeated by the Lakeland College Muskies 7-2
on Tuesday in a Northern Athletics Conference dual match at the
Kohler Sports Core.
Senior Mike Reimer (Sheboygan, Wis./South) suffered a tough loss
at No. 1 singles, falling 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 to Lakeland's Tom Kuehl.
At No. 2 singles, WLC senior Jon Jossart (Brookfield,
Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) was victorious over Yu Sasaki 6-4, 1-6,
10-8. The Muskies' Dane Maier defeated Wisconsin Lutheran freshman
David Parez (Milwaukee, Wis./Thomas More) 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3
singles. At No. 4 singles, Lakeland's Andy Cheever topped sophomore
Matt Pautz (Two Rivers, Wis./Manitowoc Lutheran) 6-1, 6-2.
Lakeland's Kazuya Hosokawa knocked off WLC senior Aaron Vanderhyde
(Aurora, Colo./Homeschooled) at No. 5 singles 6-4, 6-3. LC's
Brandon Robinson won by forfeit at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the tandem of Reimer and Jossart defeated Kuehl
and Sasaki 8-6 at No. 1. Parez and Pautz partnered at No. 2 and
fell 8-1 to Maier and Cheever. Kodai Miyamoto and Hosokawa won at
No. 3 by forfeit for Lakeland (1-5, 1-5 NAC).
Wisconsin Lutheran (0-7, 0-7 NAC) travels to Waukesha, Wis.,
Thursday for a non-conference match against Carroll University at
the Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Center. The dual with the Pioneers
begins at 4 p.m.
